Maya Moore Irons Inducted into Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – UConn women’s basketball legend Maya Moore Irons was officially inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2024 last Saturday.

Moore is one of the most decorated basketball players, winning two NCAA Championships, four WNBA championships, two Olympic gold medals and numerous individual honors.

Moore made an immediate impact as UConn, becoming the first-ever player to win both BIG EAST Freshman and Player of the Year. She was a four-time consensus All-American, three-time Wade Trophy winner, two-time Naismith Player of the Year, two-time AP College Player of the Year, two-time USBWA National Player of the Year and two-time Honda Sports Award winner at UConn.

Moore was also a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team member.

Moore led UConn to the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Championships.
